  11. The ID LOGIC (R) Simulator for Windows ("Software") simulates
  12. ID LOGIC receivers which permit scanning for stations by type
  13. of music ("Format-Scanning") and which offer automatic
  14. identification of station by name, location and format.
  15.  
  16. ID LOGIC receivers can perform these functions for all
  17. stations in BOTH AM and FM (unlike RDS which is limited
  18. to FM.)
  19.  
  20. Such receivers are being introduced to the North American
  21. market by our licensees (see below) - mostly in car radios.
  22.  
  23. ID LOGIC receivers contain an in-receiver database which
  24. can be updated by the broadcasters themselves (ID LOGIC "RDS")
  25. and/or by the user (ID LOGIC) with a few keystokes.
  26.  
  27. This Simulator contains the data describing most North American
  28. stations (more than 14,000 stations).
  29.  
  30. All raw stations data is exclusively licensed from M Street Corp.
  31.  
  32. An ID LOGIC Shortwave Simulator is also available, as well as
  33. the ID LOGIC World Time Clock - see below.

  36. Minimum Requirements

  39. The ID LOGIC Simulator for MS Windows requires the following:
  40.  
  41.     - IBM PC compatible machine;
  42.     - MS Windows Version 3.1 or later;
  43.     - Microsoft (or compatible) mouse;
  44.     - Display minimum: 540x480 x 256 colors (64k preferred);
  45.     - VBRUN300.DLL in the /Windows/System subdirectory.
  46.       NOTE: If you do not already have VBRUN300.DLL, you can 
  47.       download it with FTP from hk.net (look for VBRUN300.ZIP
  48.       in the /shareware/prs directory.) Do this BEFORE running SETUP.EXE

  51. Very Brief History
  52. ------------------

  54. ID LOGIC is a scanning/tuning system which permits the user to
  55.  
  56.   1) automatically identify any tuned-in station
  57.   2) scan for a station by station attribute such as format
  58.     (e.i. type of music), callsign, language, etc.
  59.  
  60. PRS started to develop ID LOGIC in 1986. The first product was the
  61. ID LOGIC Module for AM/FM radio receivers for use in North America
  62. (which is today - 8/1994 - on the N.Am market in several radios).
  63.  
  64. We have already licensed SONY, MATSUSHITA (Panasonic/Technics),
  65. PIONEER, KENWOOD, ALPINE, SANYO, CLARION, JVC, and others.
  66. You should see a whole bunch of ID LOGIC models hit the market in '95.

  68. In 1993, ID LOGIC "RDS" was integrated in the Radio Broadcast Data System
  69. (RBDS) standard issued by the National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC)
  70. on January 8, 1993. (This is the U.S. version of the European
  71. RDS standard.)

  73. Since 1992 we have been working with the BBC World Service and the Voice
  74. of America to develop an ID LOGIC version for shortwave receivers.
  75. This open consortium has since been joined by Radio France
  76. Internationale and we expect it will soon grow rapidly. (Stay tuned.)

  78. There, the idea is to permit SW listeners to tune to a station by
  79. pressing at most two buttons (one for the desired broadcaster,
  80. the other for the desired language). The consortium is conducting
  81. tests to establish the best mode to automatically update the
  82. in-receiver databases which form the basis of ID LOGIC.

  84. An ID LOGIC "SW" Simulator is also available via the Internet:

  91.     - Deutsche Welle

  93. ALL SCHEDULES WERE PREPARED BY THE BROADCASTERS THEMSELVES.

  125. Corporation ("PRS"), a New York corporation.

  129. ID LOGIC is the subject of several U.S. and foreign patents.

  131. The source code, object code and associated materials are all
  132. Copyrighted (C) 1994 PRS Corporation.

  134. PRS Corporation is the owner of all the property rights of
  135. ID LOGIC, ID LOGIC SW, ID LOGIC "RDS", the ID LOGIC Simulators
  136. and all application software first available on the anonymous
  137. ftp server hk.net (/shareware/prs).

  140. solely for its internal private purposes.  The user shall not
